Manzanar National Historic Site

In 1942 the U.S. Government ordered more than 110,000 Japanese Americans be detained in military-style internment camps. Manzanar War Relocation Center was one of the 10 camps where these men, women and children were incarcerated during World War II. Today, the Manzanar museum and recreated barracks stand on the site to pay homage to those who were unjustly incarcerated there.
